When experiencing a flight disruption, you may - in addition to compensation as well, get your additional expenses reimbursed by the airline - consisting of food, drink, transport and accommodation.
If the airline does not reroute you to another departure, and you have to book a new ticket yourself - the airline is required to pay your new ticket.
